The DC Cinematic Universe has found a new male god to play Superman.
On June 28, DC announced that David Corenswet will be the next person to be assigned the responsibility of playing the character Clark Kent, the famous superhero Superman. Director James Gunn – who is responsible for the content of the film studio – confirmed the information on his personal Twitter page. Accordingly, Corenswet will officially debut in Superman: Legacy, scheduled to be released in 2025. Meanwhile, Rachel Brosnahan has been assigned the role of Lois Lane – Clark Kent’s girlfriend.

Immediately after the information was announced, many fans searched for information about this new star couple, especially David Corenswet when he was not yet a familiar name to the majority of the public. The female lead Brosnahan once attracted attention with her leading role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – a series that won 20 Emmy awards.
With a sculpted visual, she is considered a copy of Henry Cavill
Possessing a handsome face and an ideal body with a height of 1m93, David Corenswet is considered one of the promising male gods of Hollywood. In particular, after being confirmed to play Superman, many audiences were very excited because this actor was compared many times to his predecessor Henry Cavill.

The new Superman’s chiseled face and body
In a 2019 interview, David Corenswet once confided about being compared to the British star: “I really don’t want to make any statements about that. I think it’s inevitable in this profession. I thought about being compared before the online community knew me. I also had a desire to play Superman like Henry Cavill”.
David Corenswet was born in 1993 in Philadelphia, USA and began his acting career as a child. He started in neighborhood theaters before moving to New York to study drama at the prestigious Juilliard School. After graduating, Corenswet gradually moved into acting and began to have his first roles. His career turning point was the series The Politician (2019) when he transformed into the character River Barkley. David Corenswet scored with his bright appearance, classy and strong demeanor.
Recently, the actor has received many invitations from major Hollywood studios such as Netflix and HBO. He plays the main role and is responsible for producing the series Hollywood (2020) – a film about the American film industry after World War II. Corenswet also appeared in the notable horror film Pearl released by A24 last year.
A passionate love for Superman
David Corenswet is a fan of comic books, especially DC’s superhero character. He told EW: “The best thing about Superman is that many people don’t like him. Superman is invincible. There are so many things to exploit from that character. The troubling stories are associated with an immortal person and almost nothing can be difficult for him.”
Fans can look forward to a completely different transformation of David Corenswet in the Man of Steel cape. In a previous interview, the actor expressed his admiration for Henry Cavill as Superman. However, he said he would like to portray a contrasting image if given the opportunity to play the character. “I really wish someone would play the character in a more dynamic way. I love the dark and gritty version of Henry. However, I hope to see a more positive and bright image in the next Superman.”

After announcing the two main characters, the Superman: Legacy crew is expected to continue revealing the next actors in the near future. In addition to Clark Kent and Lois Lane, characters familiar to DC fans such as Jimmy Olsen and Lex Luthor are also expected to appear.
