Henry Cavill’s Insane Star Wars Confession Makes Rumors That He’s Joining Franchise Hard to Ignore
Henry Cavill is arguably best known for his role as Clark Kent / Superman in the DCEU. However, after moving on from the role, Cavill has mostly remained away from major franchises, except for a brief cameo in last year’s MCU blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine. However, if reports are to be believed Cavill could soon be headed for the galaxy far, far away.

A new report from an insider suggested that Cavill is in talks with Lucasfilm to join the Star Wars franchise. Moreover, this isn’t the first time Cavill has been linked with the epic space opera saga. At the same time, the actor has professed his love for the franchise, which only adds fuel to the rumors of his impending arrival in the Star Wars universe, and here is everything you need to know about it.
Henry Cavill is rumored to be in talks to join the Star Wars universe
The Star Wars franchise has yet to launch a new theatrical film since the Skywalker Saga’s conclusion in 2019 with the final installment of the sequel trilogy. As Lucasfilm weighs its options carefully, several projects are rumored to be in development for the galaxy far, far away.

According to a report from insider @MyTimeToShineH, the space opera franchise is rumored to have set its eyes upon none other than Henry Cavill for a pivotal role in an upcoming installment. If the rumors are true, the former Superman actor could be headed for the Star Wars universe.
Furthermore, this isn’t the first time, rumors of Cavill’s potential involvement with future installments of the blockbuster franchise have surfaced online. Late last year, it was announced that The Force Awakens producer Simon Kinberg would be returning to write and produce a new trilogy of movies.
Following the news of Kinberg’s new trilogy, the same insider also reported (via ComicBookMovie.com) that Cavill was being considered for a crucial role in the new entries, which are in the earliest stages of development. Along with Ryan Gosling’s recent rumored talks to join Star Wars, Cavill could be the next major star to land in the galaxy far, far away.

The rumors of Cavill joining the Star Wars franchise do not appear unsubstantiated. Firstly, the actor appeared in a cameo in last year’s Disney-produced Deadpool & Wolverine. Secondly, Cavill has professed his love for the Star Wars franchise in an Instagram post from 2016.
When you love being Superman but you secretly want to be a bad guy in Star Wars too!
Cavill stated the above in the post’s caption, sharing a photograph of himself in a scuba diving mask that resembles a Sith Lord. However, if and when Cavill does end up in the space opera saga it will be interesting to see whether he is on the light side or dark side of the Force.
Following his exit from the DCEU and stepping down from Netflix’s The Witcher, Cavill hasn’t had a box office home run with Argylle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare performing poorly. As a result, Cavill’s career could greatly benefit from a stint in the Star Wars universe. The actor is slated to next appear in Guy Ritchie’s next action-thriller In the Grey.
