Jazz Chisholm, Jr. never went to college. The New York Yankees’ infielder went straight from the sports academy in his native Bahamas and started his professional career as an 18-year-old.

But now, the 26-year-old baseball star is enjoying collegiate life—at least for a bit. According to Derrian Carter of the Greensville News, Chisholm enjoyed a Syracuse University—Clemson University basketball game on the Clemson campus. Later in the week, he worked out with Clemson football players Cade Klubnik and wide receiver Antonio Williams.

“Ahead of Clemson baseball beginning workouts for the 2025 season, the two players were at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to greet Chisholm, who ran routes and caught passes from Klubnik,” Carter reported.

Chisholm also worked out with the Clemson baseball team later that day.

And why Clemson?

Clemson baseball just signed a deal with Absolutely Ridiculous, an equipment brand Chisholm represents.

“Clemson baseball announced a gear partnership with Absolutely Ridiculous, a brand Chisholm represents, on Thursday. The company will be the exclusive brand for the Tigers’ fielding gloves, sliding mitts and glove loops,” Carter explained.

Chisholm is enjoying the last few weeks of the offseason. The Yankees’ position players are expected to report to Tampa for spring training by Feb.17.

He will experience his first camp with the Yankees after being acquired from the Marlins in a trade last July.

Over 46 games with the Yankees, Chisholm hit .273/.325/.500, launching 11 home runs, driving in 23 runs, and stealing 18 bases.

Chisholm comes into the 2025 season unsure of his defensive role.

A natural second baseman, Chisholm was asked to play third base last season. The Yankees have not yet replaced second baseman Gleyber Torres, who left via free agency for the Tigers. Chisholm could end up playing either third or second, depending on if the Yankees make another roster move.
