Former Lakers player Metta World Peace made it clear on social media that he wants to see LeBron and his son Bronny team up: “I would love to see Bron and Bronny on the same squad. Bronny gonna be champ for sure.”

You talk about Xs and Os acumen, player development… from day one of this Lakers search, it has been Dan Hurley,” Adrian Wojnarowski said via UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio on ESPN.

Of course, bringing LeBron’s oldest son into the team comes with risks. The Lakers hold the 17th and 56th overall picks in the upcoming draft, and the last thing they want is to draft Bronny without ensuring proper development for him.

The news of the Lakers’ strong interest in Hurley raises questions about what will happen — or what has happened — with JJ Redick. The 15-year NBA veteran and current broadcaster/podcaster had been frequently mentioned as a target for LA, with the franchise reportedly “zeroing in” on him before Redick debunked the rumor himself.

Considering James and Redick’s close relationship, having started a podcast together and played against each other in the NBA for over a decade, how does this news about Hurley impact the Lakers’ plans with their superstar?
