Piers Morgan has spoken about his experience at one of Taylor Swift’s concerts at Wembley Stadium and revealed the “mean” friendship bracelet he was given.

Taylor, 34, took to the stage at the stadium in London last week for three shows as she continued the Eras Tour.

They included a concert on Sunday evening, with celebrities such as Piers, 59, having been among the audience at the venue.

The journalist shared a photo of himself in the stands with his followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He teased in the post: “Taylor, the wait is over… for both of us!”

Piers later tweeted: “What a show. What a star. Absolutely loved it.”

He has since opened up about the experience further and shared that the “only dampener” was when he was given a friendship bracelet, which are popular among Taylor’s fans, with a reference to one of the singer’s lyrics as he was leaving the stadium. Piers teased that unlike the rest of his group at the event, he didn’t get a “uplifting loving message”.

He wrote in a column for the Sun: “The only dampener for me came as we left, and stewards handed us all a free friendship bracelet. Everyone else in our group got uplifting loving messages.” He went on to share that his included a lyric from Taylor’s song Mean, writing: “Mine said simply: ‘Y U gotta be so mean?’” Piers then teased that there’s “no hiding place” from Taylor.

Piers revealed that he had attended the concert with his daughter Elise, 12, and one of her friends. He said that there was “sheer palpable joy” among fans at the stadium ahead of the show before sharing his own thoughts on Taylor.

Recalling previous concerts he’s attended, the Uncensored host said that he’s seen “better live singers,” citing Freddie Mercury as an example. Piers said he’s also seen “better dancers” and “better all-round musicians,” with him naming Michael Jackson and Prince as respective examples.

He however went on to praise Taylor, with him saying in his recent column that he’s “never” seen anyone with “a stronger connection” to their audience than her. Piers added that there’s “no denying her incredible talent,” noting that she sings and plays several instruments, for example.

And discussing her acclaimed songs, he described them as the “purest form” of pop music, adding that each one tells its own “little story” and “touches the heartstrings”. Piers suggested that the Grammy Award winner writes “great pop” because she “understands” what people go through in the “relentless emotional rollercoaster of life”.

Taylor embarked on the Eras Tour last year and it reached the UK earlier this month for a series of concerts, including the three shows in London. She’s set to return to the capital city for an additional five shows in August.
