There was a host of Lamar-related topics that took the sports world by storm. He tapped up a cadre of guests to turn his creative vision into reality, from Samuel L. Jackson to Serena Williams.

But there was one aspect of Lamar’s display that proved especially compelling: his outfit. Much like predecessors Usher, Rihanna and Beyonce, Lamar strode into the SuperDome dressed to the nines. That made quite the impression among legions of social media users.

Lamar sported quite the look during the Super Bowl 59 halftime show, striding onto the stage in a sapphire varsity jacket. The lettering that scrawled across the sheath featured a familiar message: “Gloria.”

The jacket pays tribute to one of Lamar’s latest ditties, the aptly titled “Gloria.” The track sees Lamar employ one of his patented extended metaphors, with Lamar waxing lyrical about Gloria, the physical embodiment of his artistic gifts.

Lamar isn’t the only artist on the tune. He’s joined by SZA, one of his many featured guests during Sunday’s showcase. So, his decision to sport the custom-made look seemed an inspired decision.

Then, there were Lamar’s precious jewels. His neck was draped in a deluge of diamonds and other gems. The most notable piece was a necklace with an “a” pendant in Times New Roman typeface.

Is the regalia a testament to a pivotal figure in Lamar’s life? Not quite. How about a reference to his iconic “a-minor” line from “Not Like Us?” Nope.

Instead, it’s a symbol of PGLang, a music production company founded by Lamar and longtime collaborator Dave Free. The company, established in 2020, is a star-studded affair, also claiming Baby Keem as a member of its roster. PGLang has nabbed six Cannes Lions awards, including the Special Award for Independent Agency of the Year in 2023.
