‘FBI’ TV Show: We Think OA Is Secretly Hoping Maggie’s Love Life Doesn’t Work Out

In the TV show “FBI,” particularly during season two, episode eight, fans witnessed an intriguing development in Agent Maggie Bell’s (played by Missy Peregrym) love life. Maggie meets a new man, Jeremy Parks, which seems like the start of something new for her. However, as events unfold, viewers are left wondering if Maggie’s partner, OA (Zeeko Zaki), might be secretly hoping that her romance doesn’t work out. Here’s why we think OA might have hidden feelings for Maggie.
A Rocky Start for Maggie’s New Romance
In the episode titled “Code Name: Ferdinand,” Maggie experiences a chance encounter with Jeremy, a stranger she meets after a minor car accident. This seemingly random meeting leads to them exchanging contact information, and soon after, Jeremy asks Maggie out on a date. Maggie, excited about the possibility of a new relationship, eagerly agrees.
However, before their relationship can blossom, Maggie decides to do a background check on Jeremy, which raises some red flags. Although Jeremy turns out to be harmless, the ordeal of being questioned by the FBI leaves him feeling uneasy. This experience leads Jeremy to tell Maggie he doesn’t want to continue seeing her, understandably so—starting a relationship with a three-hour FBI interrogation isn’t ideal.

OA and Maggie: A Close Bond Beyond Partnership
Throughout the series, OA and Maggie have developed a close bond, both professionally and personally. OA has confided in Maggie about his struggles, particularly in season two, episode one (“Little Egypt”), where he opens up about the challenges he faces as a Muslim man in America. This bond deepens further in episode six (“Outsider”), where OA shares his uncertainties about his relationship with Mona, a woman with whom he has a no-strings-attached arrangement.
Is OA Comparing Mona to Maggie?
OA’s relationship with Mona reveals a lot about his true feelings. He confides in Maggie that being with Mona, who is wealthy and from a different social class, makes him feel like a “poor kid from Queens.” Despite his hesitation, OA goes on an expensive trip with Mona, but it’s clear that his heart isn’t fully in it. We suspect that OA’s reluctance stems from his feelings for Maggie, though he tries to maintain a professional distance.
Maggie, with her down-to-earth personality and small-town Indiana roots, seems to be a better match for OA than Mona. OA even tells Maggie that he feels uneasy around people with money and pedigree, reinforcing the idea that he’s more comfortable with Maggie.

The Telltale Signs
OA’s feelings for Maggie become even more apparent in a scene from episode six, where he unexpectedly bumps into Mona at the office. When this happens, OA fails to introduce Mona to Maggie, leaving Mona to introduce herself. During this awkward encounter, Mona mentions that OA talks about Maggie “all the time,” which visibly embarrasses OA. This slip-up suggests that OA might be thinking about Maggie more than he lets on.
Given these moments, it seems only a matter of time before Maggie and OA’s relationship becomes more than just professional. Their deep connection and the comfort they find in each other suggest that OA might secretly be hoping that Maggie’s new romance doesn’t work out after all.
