Caitlin Clark was quick to congratulate Patrick and Brittany Mahomes on the birth of their third child and second daughter: Golden Raye.

On Jan. 12, Brittany announced that the family had welcomed the birth of Golden Raye on social media.

On Instagram, Brittany and Patrick posted a joint picture, with the two holding their child simply captioned: “Golden Raye Mahomes 1/12/5.”

Clark was quick to congratulate the family, liking the picture they posted. As of writing, more than 460,000 people liked the announcement post.

Additionally, Clark posted a one-word comment under Brittany’s post, simply putting: “Congrats” with a red heart emoji.

For the Indiana Fever Star, congratulating the Mahomes’s on the birth of their daughter is Clark’s way of staying attached to the team.

ark is a Kansas City Chiefs fan because she had family that lived in the city. “I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City,” Clark said, per Chiefs Wire.

“So that’s just the closest NFL team; my dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up. People think I’m like a bandwagon Chiefs fan, I’m like, ‘No, I was there before Patrick (Mahomes) and Travis.’ We were ride or dies, so we’ve been big fans.”

And while the birth of their child is a moment of joy for the family, Patrick did admit waiting for Golden Raye was something that was weighing on him.

While speaking to Netflix’s Kay Adams before the Chiefs’ 29-10 Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the star quarterback shared what had been occurring in his family.

“Brittany says I’ve been stressing her out too much this season,” he shared. “So I got to try to not put so much stress on her through these football games.

Hopefully God works the right way and we can have that baby on ‘the bye’ week somewhere, and then everything will work out perfectly.

“[She’s the] MVP because she’ll go in there and crush it and what, three babies? I can take a break for a long time and just focus on playing football and raising those babies.”

The win signified the Chiefs nabbing the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which awarded Kansas City with a playoff bye.

And during that bye is when the Mahomes’s welcomed their child, which Patrick predicted, stating:

“I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby.

So we got that number one seed.”

Of note, the latest child continues an interesting naming convention the couple have embraced with their children. Their oldest daughter was named Sterling Skye while their two-year-old son is Bronze.

It has been theorized that the Mahomes’ calling their children after various metals could be because the couple has been associated with success, especially given that Patrick and the Chiefs have three championships in five years.
