Eminem Takes Jabs at Kanye West, Ja Rule, Lizzo, and Others on New Album ‘The Death of Slim Shady’

Eminem has just dropped his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” and it’s already stirring up controversy in the rap world.

This concept album pits Eminem against his notorious alter ego, Slim Shady, resulting in a project packed with jabs at fellow music icons.

The album wastes no time diving into the drama, with Eminem taking aim at Kanye West, Ja Rule, and Lizzo, among others.

Known for his fearless approach, Eminem holds nothing back as he addresses various figures in the hip-hop scene.

One of the standout tracks, “Antichrist,” sees Eminem mocking Kanye West’s infamous public antics and referencing his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s notorious sex tape with Ray J. Em spits in “Bad One” :

“Say they wish that I wasn’t so angry/ They wanna see me goin’ off the deep end like Ye, aye/ Rather see me do like Kim Kardashian they say, yeah/ And find a way to get rid of all of this rage, aye [Ray J].”

Eminem revisits Kanye, this time highlighting his struggles with medication and mental health:

“Brain is dead, space cadet/ Like when Ye forgets to take his meds.”

The sharp lyrics reflect Eminem’s unfiltered critique of the rap mogul. Ja Rule, a long-time adversary, also finds himself in Eminem’s crosshairs on “Guilty Conscience 2.” This sequel to the iconic Slim Shady LP track with Dr. Dre features the line:

“When I say, ‘Fuck midgets,’ I mean Ja Rule.”

Em’s disdain for Ja Rule is evident, further fueling their ongoing feud. The theme of little people appears throughout the album, as Eminem provocatively raps:

“Swear to God, I see one of them little fuckers come at me/ I’ll pick it up by its legs and drop it and kick it.”

This recalls his 2003 diss track, “Hailie’s Revenge (Doe Rae Me),” where he labeled Ja Rule a “little mothafuckin’ midget.”

Lizzo doesn’t escape Eminem’s wrath either. On “Road Rage,” he targets her in a commentary on obesity:

“Ain’t never really truly over ’til Lizzo sings/ We should coddle fat people, yeah, here’s a concept, let’s celebrate onset/ Diabetes and instead of us dieting we can just have a pie-eating contest.”

“Bad One” also finds Eminem reflecting on his legacy and the influx of white rappers in the genre:

“Yeah, this whole sub-genre with all these corny white rappers, I’m not a fan of it/ It ain’t my fault but like sock puppets I had a hand in it.”

Eminem’s new album is a bold, unflinching exploration of his alter ego, Slim Shady, and his thoughts on the current state of hip-hop.
