Angel Reese Responds to Taylor Swift Fans After Interview With Kayla Nicole
Angel Reese is unfazed by the backlash from Taylor Swift fans following her conversation with Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole.

“Hate has its benefits,” the 22-year-old wrote on X on Friday, Oct. 11, along with a cryptic nail polish emoji. The day before, the Chicago Sky forward released the latest episode of her podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” in which she chatted with Nicole, 32, about her past relationship with Kelce, 35.

Nicole, who dated Kelce from 2017 to 2022, shared on the podcast that the two have not been in touch, especially since Kelce went public with Swift in July 2023.

“We’ve run into each other in public before, but I think we both understood his new situation,” Nicole said on the Oct. 10 episode. “There was no room for us to communicate or even acknowledge each other without it turning into a crazy story.”

While she didn’t mention Swift during the podcast, Nicole admitted that she faced a huge backlash from some of the singer’s fans.

“I would be lying if I said the hate and chaos on social media didn’t affect me,” she said. “It still does, even to this day. You can go to my last post and see people arguing about why I’m worthless, why I don’t have a career, why I’ll never be a talent.”

Nicole, who is now a sports analyst, insists she will continue to talk about the NFL, including the Kansas City Chiefs, despite the attacks she receives.

“Think I’m not going to talk about the No. 1 team in the NFL, the best quarterback and linebacker? That comes with my job,” she insists. “They’re going to have to live with that.”

Despite being embroiled in controversy, Reese seems unfazed by the criticism, instead using the attention to assert her strong character and determination in basketball and media.
