He was once an 80s pop star who topped the charts with his band UB40 with hits like Can’t Help Falling In Love and Kingston Town.
And now it appears that Ali Campbell is taking a step back and enjoying the good life in his new home country New Zealand.
Taking in the summer sun, the 53-year-old former rock star stood on the balcony of his Auckland apartment topless, enjoying a glass of red, red wine and a cigarette.

Sporting a larger frame then in his 80s heyday, the Campbell also showed off a series of arm and chest tattoos that no doubt remind him of his wild days as a pop star.
The singer, originally from Birmingham, has been appearing as a judge alongside Rachel Hunter and Jason Kerrison on the latest series of New Zealand’s Got Talent.
And judging by his bulging belly and content smile as he overlooked the view from his apartment, the Kiwi lifestyle suits the hit maker just fine.

The front man was clearly enjoying his vices, smoking and drinking during his day off from filming the talent show.
Ali left UB40, the band he founded and that brought him fame, in 2008, reportedly due to their financial struggles.
Since, he’s been touring the world with a new band, performing both his four number one singles with UB40 as well as new solo material.

Still on top: The singer is still touring the world delighting audiences with his reggae hits
But Campbell revealed he wasn’t always as comfortable on stage as he is these days.
He explained: ‘My voice was fine but I suffered huge stage fright. I would come on stage and instead of looking at the audience I would concentrate on the mic, which would make me go cross-eyed.’
‘I would hope back then people would have seen a raw talent and encouraged me.’
