As mentioned, at this time, Prime Video hasn’t made moves to renew the series for a second season, but creator, Derek Haas is already dreaming of what could be. For starters, he’d like to see a crossover that would see Ackles’ Mark Meachum work alongside a fan-favorite actor from Chicago P.D. — a series that the One Chicago franchise creator has been instrumental in getting off the ground. Recently sharing his hopes for what could come to fruition, Haas said that he’d love to bring Lee Soffer on board to join in the fun of the second season — should there be one.
Despite initially hitting a rocky road with critics, audiences just haven’t been able to stay away from Ackles’ latest project, which is incredibly promising when it comes to the hopeful renewal. Although he’s been behind the One Chicago franchise, Countdown marked Haas’ first foray into streaming, giving him an entirely new learning curve. Previously speaking about the Season 2 prospects, Haas said:
“I’m feeling good. I haven’t done streaming before, so kind of all of the analytics are new. It’s different from when I was doing network and you knew the next morning, like, oh, this is doing great, whatever. But I’m excited because it feels like we continue to pick up viewers every week and so that gets me all excited.”
