Fact Check: Report of Aldean rejecting Beyonce collaboration is satire, not fact
“I wasn’t about to put my name on that crap,” said Aldean, “Her husband was running all over Nashville trying to find country artists to lend credibility to her silly attempt at a country album.”
Posts online saying that country singer Jason Aldean refused a $20 million offer to collaborate with singer-songwriter Beyonce on her “Cowboy Carter” album come from a satire account on Facebook and are not reflective of fact.
Social media users shared a screenshot, opens new tab with pictures of both performers and a purported quote from Aldean, as well as the logo of the satirical news page America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) featured in the bottom-left corner.
Some users responded as though the story was authentic, with disparaging comments about Beyonce or her new album.

But the story was originally shared on April 11 by the ALLOD Facebook page, opens new tab, which is followed by over 300,000 users and describes itself as, “the flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery,” adding, “Nothing on this page is real.”
There is no evidence that Aldean was approached by Beyonce for a collaboration on the country-genre album.
Reuters has previously addressed satirical headlines referring to both Beyonce and Aldean.
Representatives for Beyonce and Aldean did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
