Monumental Pictures has announced that it will be making a film about the ups and downs of singer Amy Winehouse’s life.
According to The Wrap, Monumental Pictures has signed a deal with the family of singer Amy Winehouse to plan to produce a film about her life.
The film has not yet been officially titled, but writer Geoff Deane will be responsible for writing the script, and Geoff will also be a co-producer. The film company’s representative said that this project will officially start in 2019.
Sharing his thoughts on the upcoming film, the late singer’s father said: “My family has always felt the need to tell the story of our daughter’s life, but in the past, we were never ready, until now, I feel that my daughter’s life and talent need to be told and honored.”

Although filming has not yet begun, the producer confirmed that a portion of the film’s revenue will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Established after the singer’s death, the organization aims to raise awareness of the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse.
This is not the first time Amy Winehouse’s life has been recreated on film. Previously, in late 2015, A24 released a documentary about the singer’s biography and was highly appreciated by critics.
Amy Winehouse is a British singer and songwriter. With her deep voice and distinctive musical style, she became the first British female artist in history to win 5 Grammy Awards. However, while her career was on the rise, Amy Winehouse died from drug overdose on July 23, 2011.
