Caitlin Clark is still facing criticism from fellow WNBA players while trying to help them get paid more money.
Earlier this week, Clark spoke about the importance of WNBA players getting paid more money during upcoming CBA negotiations.
“We should be paid more, and hopefully that’s the case moving forward, as the league continues to grow,” Clark told the media. “That’s something that’s probably the most important thing that we’re in the room advocating about.”
On Saturday night before the WNBA All-Star game, Clark was seen wearing a “pay us what you owe us” shirt alongside other WNBA All-Stars.
After the game, WNBA star Kelsey Plum decided to randomly take a shot at Clark for wearing the shirt.
“It was a very powerful moment. As players, we didn’t know that that was going to happen. It was a genuine surprise. The t-shirt was determined this morning. Not to tattletale: 0 members of Team Clark were very present for that”
Fans were confused by Plum’s comments directed at Clark.
Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum may have playfully taken a dig at Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark’s team after the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night. During warmups for the game, Plum and every player donned shirts that had the phrase “pay us what you owe us,” demanding better pay for the league’s players.
After the game, Plum explained what went behind the idea of wearing them while jokingly taking a shot at Team Clark.
“The T-shirt was determined this morning. Not to tattletale: 0 members of Team Clark were very present for that [morning meeting],” Plum said, alluding to the fact that players on Clark’s team were spotted out partying late the night before.
Plum, who was sitting with Team Clark member Sabrina Ionescu, also touched on the fan support the players received during the game. “[The crowd chanting to “pay them”] was a very powerful moment. As players, we didn’t know that was going to happen. It was a genuine surprise.”

It is understandable that WNBA players want their pay to grow as soon as possible.
The WNBA’s CBA will improve over time as players will earn more in their salaries while the league grows in popularity. While it will take more than just Caitlin Clark to pull this off, their objective is more important for the long term.
In the meantime, Plum will return to business with the Sparks. Los Angeles has an 8-14 record on the season, holding the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are two games behind the Golden State Valkyries and three games behind the Las Vegas Aces.
