Aaron Pierre emerges as a top contender for the next 007 amidst the arrival of a dark horse in the Bond race.
With Denis Villeneuve on board, the conversation surrounding the potential Bond lead has once again ignited, and in contrast to what one might presume, relatively unknown actor Scott Rose-Marsh has entered the race. While fans have long been imploring for Henry Cavill’s involvement in the Bond mythos, interestingly, the new creative heads might be leaning toward another DC star.

Having previously appeared in BBC’s The Outlaws, according to The Scotsman, his odds of nabbing the 007 gig were placed at 4/1, just behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James. Interestingly, now DCU star Aaron Pierre has popped off as the fourth favorite in the Bond race with odds of 5/1.
This comes after Insider Daniel Ritchman reported that the Lanterns star was being considered for the prestigious role at Amazon MGM, albeit clarifying he was unsure if any meetings took place or not.

Although it’s hard to say anything for certain, considering Pierre, in addition to being English, is currently 31 and is on route to headline one of DCU’s most anticipated releases next year, there’s a strong case to be made here.
As for Rose-Marsh, even though not as celebrated as other potential contenders for Bond, it’s possible the creatives in charge would pull another Daniel Craig by banking on a relatively unknown actor.
What could this mean for Henry Cavill’s Bond ambitions at 42?
Following Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson’s departure from the IP, some felt Henry Cavill could finally nab the 007 role if the rumored age factor was no longer at play under the new regime.

But given the conversation surrounding Scott Rose-Marsh and Aaron Pierre, it seems EON Productions could still be leaning toward an actor under 40. Moreover, with Denis Villeneuve leading the charge, who is currently committed to Dune Messiah, it’s safe to say the next Bond feature might still be years away.
With Cavill already at 42, unlike Pierre, and to some extent Rose-Marsh, age might not be in his favor, even though, in the case of Rose-Marsh at 37, he could be ageing out before the production begins.
Whatever the case turns out to be, with Villeneuve at the helm, one can aspire for a Bond adaptation like no other, as his chops could mark a meaningful departure from the IP’s more commercial roots, in all the right ways.
