Kathy Griffin Begs People to Buy Tour Tickets—‘Not Selling Well’

Kathy Griffin has issued a plea for people to buy more tickets to her comedy routine, as she admits some are “not selling well.”

The comedy act will hit the road with My Life on the PTSD List from Des Moines, Iowa, on February 2, heading to Omaha, Nebraska the following day. After stops in California and several US states, including Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Missori and Texas, Griffin will wrap up her tour in California and June…

Griffin has claimed that the fallout in her personal life will cause her to “go berserk” when she takes the stage. Griffin filed for divorce from her husband, Randy Bick, in late December, days before their fourth wedding anniversary…

More than two years ago, the My Life on the D-List star announced in early 2021 that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer, before revealing in November of that year that she was cancer-free…

Despite recovering from surgery, she still faces issues related to the treatment she underwent, but she is doing her best to get her voice back to its original pitch after surgery that made her voice higher than normal…

In a video shared on X’s Instagram, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, Griffi told her friends: “I’m going to be real with you guys. I had another voice surgery two days ago, so my voice has improved a lot, I think. But I have COVID and I’m heartbroken because I’m getting divorced.”

After listing the issues, she wanted to say that the main theme of the video was “everyone is on top, man. Just make me run to Des Moine. Omaha is not selling well. First of all, there are too many people there.”

“I need funny people to come and see me in Kansas City, come here,” she thought. “I need the vendors. I’ve been through hell. I’ve been through so much shit since my last time. I just want to laugh. So please…”

After being asked where they could buy tickets to see her perform, she said: “For God’s sake, come see me. I’m going to be in 40 cities. It’s going to be Peace. It’s going to be something that gets me through. You guys get me through, you always do.”

Teasing what might have been discussed onstage, Griffin opened the door to the specific court battle Donald Trump has faced. The former president, whom Griffin has harshly criticized for years, is in the midst of a second defamation trial brought against him by former Elle editor E. Jean Carroll…

In May 2023, the journalist was awarded $5 million after a jury found Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation. The GOP president claimed Carroll was sexually assaulted at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York in the 1990s

Carroll’s lawyers are seeking another $10 million in compensatory damages and “substantially more” after Trump attempted to deny the allegation that he assaulted her, claiming he did not know who she was and that Carroll was not his “type.” In May, Trump called Carroll’s account “fake” and called her “crazy” after a CNN broadcast. In early September, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Trump’s comments against Carroll were defamatory.

Griffin, a strong supporter of Carroll, said of her television shows: “We have a lot to discuss. I mean, gosh, a lot. I’m not actually going to put Trump on my new show, but he just took the stand in the E. Jean Carroll case and, you know, he just started throwing things from the losing side. So I guess that’s something. It’ll take at least three minutes. But I have more to say now, I promise.”

“But I need you,” she told her friends. “You said you’d wait for me to come to the real America. Well, look at those cities on top. Go to any of my social media. You see a poster of me walking away from a dumpster fire. Oh, I wonder why that is.”

“Oh, by the way, buy tickets,” she insisted. “If you know me, don’t call me for free tickets. Those male promoters are looking to see how much I sell and if I sell. It’s all about that, and even if you’re a female comedian, you’re going to sell as much as a male comedian, regardless of your track record, blah, blah, blah…
