Dave Grohl has a good reason for rowing with Eras Tour star Taylor Swift, according to Foo Fighters fans.
The Learning to Fly star, 55, ruffled Swifties’ feathers when he accused the Bad Blood billionaire, 34, of not playing live when they both performed in London over the weekend.
During the Foo Fighters’ Saturday show at London Stadium, Dave joked: “We like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f**king errors as well. Just a couple.” Grohl paused, before concluding, “That’s because we actually play live.”
Taylor’s fans were furious after the comment, but Foo Fighters fans reminded them that Dave’s daughter, Violet, allegedly received death threats when she questioned Tay Tay’s infamous use of her private jet.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the 18-year-old posted: “Why can’t Taylor Swift just drive like everyone else.” Violet’s comment, which has since been deleted, didn’t go down well with Swifties and Taylor was criticised for not speaking up or asking her fans to stop the backlash.
Linking the post to Dave’s dig at Taylor, one person posted: “Wow I wonder what prompted Dave Grohl to take a little swipe at Taylor Swift? I’m sure it’s totally unprovoked & not at all to do with his 17-year-old daughter being relentlessly trolled & sent death threats from Swifties because of this totally innocuous tweet back in January.”
However, responding to this, a Taylor fan said: “You do not attack another artist because your daughter is beefing with that artist’s FANS. Taylor Swift is in the midst of the biggest tour on the planet. She’s done immeasurable good and boosted local economies every time she shows up. Dave and company need to calm down.”
During her sold-out show on Sunday in which her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, rocked up on stage, Taylor noted her band “is playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight.”
The comment was sandwiched in the middle of an appreciative speech about the singer’s entire crew. But the reference to “playing live… for three and a half hours” is not a part of Taylor’s nightly patter, making it seem that she was offering the most fleeting — yet firm — response to Dave’s claim.
In response to a standing ovation at the end of the concert, the Americana star told the closing-night Wembley crowd: “What you just did was an unforgettable moment for every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band that’s playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight. They deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously — we will never forget it.”
