Henry Cavill proved he was every inch the doting son as he brought his mother Marianne as his date to The Witcher season 2 premiere in London on Wednesday.

The actor, 38, cut a dapper figure as he posed for snaps alongside secretary Marianne, who looked glamorous in a black sequinned gown.

Henry looked delighted to have his parent by his side at the glitzy event as they happily smiled for photos while he wrapped an affectionate arm around her.

The movie star dressed to impress for the evening in an expertly tailored pinstripe suit, while Marianne rounded off her stylish look with dazzling gold and diamond earrings.

It turned out to be a family affair on the night as Henry was also joined by two of his brothers and his beloved dog Kal.

The actor ensured his furry friend wouldn’t miss out on the festivities and was seen bundling Kai into the back of the car on his way to the premiere.

Alongside a younger snap of him sitting on her lap, he penned: ‘Today is International Women’s Day and I’m dedicating this post to the most magnificent woman I know. My mum.

‘An extraordinary, powerful, tough, intelligent, resilient, kind, thoughtful and caring person. That little boy on her lap learned an awful lot about what it is to be a good man from her.’

The actor was seen battling magical beasts alongside Freya’s exiled princess Ciri in the two-and-a-half minute video that Netflix released in October.

After a long delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the fantasy series’ eight-episode sophomore season will premiere on December 17.

The synopsis for The Witcher season two reads: ‘Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.

‘While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.’
