Giving love a bad name?
Jon Bon Jovi admitted that he indulged in the rock star lifestyle a little too much during his iconic band’s early days in the 1980s.
The rocker, who also admitted he’s no saint when it comes to his 35-year marriage, said life was “pretty good” for him when Bon Jovi skyrocketed to global stardom.

“I got away with murder,” the “Livin’ on a Prayer” hit maker told Michael Strahan in their hourlong interview special, “Halfway There,” on ABC. “I’m a rock ‘n’ roll star, I’m not a saint. You know, I’m not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in my life — I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good.”
“But if you think I was ever going to jeopardize my — anything for believing the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing to do. What kind of excesses does a man need that’s going to fuel that fire? It’s just not worth it,” the 62-year-old insisted.
The band released their first album in 1984. At the time, the rocker was already dating his now-wife, Dorothea Hurley.
By the time the pair tied the knot at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas in 1989, Bon Jovi was a well-established “sex symbol.”

“There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her,” he told Strahan of his wife. “Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it.”
“She’s certainly not afraid to call me out on something, but she’s also there when I fall.”
“And I’m there for her when she falls. No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together,” he added.

Bon Jovi, who has four kids with Hurley, says “growing together is integral” in a marriage, adding that his high school sweetheart wife “came from nothing, same hometown, same high school, same group of peripheral friends.”
Last week, the rocker lifted the lid on his decadeslong union, admitting that he hasn’t always “been a saint” throughout their marriage.
The “You Give Love a Bad Name” hit maker and his wife are gearing up to celebrate their 35th anniversary next week, but the rocker admitted that they wouldn’t have reached the milestone had it not been for his wife’s “tolerance.”
