Chrissy Teigen’s son Miles is receiving a lot of support after the mom of four shared that her older son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes — including from Nick Jonas.

On Wednesday, July 31, Teigen shared in a statement on Instagram that Miles was recently diagnosed with the life-long autoimmune disease after a stay in the hospital due to an illness he contracted at summer camp.

As she shared the news, Teigen’s comments flooded with messages of support from fans and friends, including one who wrote, “My two brothers have T1, love that book. ❤️ @nickjonas does too, your son should go meet bad ass people, and see he’s not alone and can still accomplish anything. It’s scary but it becomes second nature and you guys will rock it.”

Teigen replied to the commenter, saying, “Nick was so kind to him!! We were so lucky to run into him ❤️.”

Alongside Miles, Teigen is also mom to son Wren Alexander, 13 months, and daughters Esti Maxine, 18 months, and Luna Simone, 8, who she shares with husband John Legend.

Jonas has been vocal about living with his Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, sharing that he was first diagnosed 18 years ago on Instagram in November.

The singer-songwriter has been candid about his health diagnosis for several years, telling PEOPLE in 2021 that it took him a while to get used to dealing with it.

“I had this kind of wrench thrown into things when I was diagnosed and it took a while to figure out how to count carbs to properly dose for insulin and what things would affect me in different ways,” Jonas previously said.

He noted after 16 years, he finally had a “fairly good grip on it,” but admitted that he wished he had someone to look up to when he was diagnosed at such a young age. He said he now aspires to be that role model for young people with diabetes. “That’s my focus,” he said.

Fans began wondering if Miles had diabetes after Teigen shared a photo on her Instagram on Sunday, July 28, in which she and her two older kids, Miles and Luna, cheered Olympic gymnast Simone Biles on at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the photo, Miles held up a sign and could be seen wearing a short-sleeved yellow shirt, where his continuous glucose monitor could be seen on his upper arm.
