Beyoncé and Jay-Z are reportedly eyeing a move to the UK, following a trend among American celebrities seeking privacy, safety, and a more peaceful lifestyle. The devastating Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year reportedly nudged the couple to look for a second home abroad, somewhere the kids can play without worry, and the media spotlight isn’t always in their backyard. The Mirror revealed, a source close to the couple said,

They were in negotiation on the price, and it isn’t on the market any more, which would suggest it’s a done deal.

The Carters were first spotted touring Oxfordshire this summer, sparking rumors that the UK countryside, along with proximity to celebrity friends, has caught their eye. Friends of the couple also say Beyoncé loves the UK’s supportive fanbase, while Jay-Z values the peace, space, and security it offers for family life.

With three children, Blue Ivy, who is currently 13, and twins Rumi and Sir both 8, the couple seems keen on finding a retreat.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are reportedly close to finalizing the purchase of a sprawling 58-acre estate in Oxfordshire’s Cotswolds, a countryside hotspot for celebrities.

The now off-market property carried a guide price of around £8.5 million, which would be $11.4 million USD, as of writing this, and comes with planning permission for a luxury country retreat, giving the couple a blank canvas to create a home perfectly suited to their lifestyle.

Architectural plans obtained by The Mirror reveal,

Meticulously designed to integrate with the natural landscape, the property offers a striking architectural statement, blending contemporary style with sustainable building practices.

It also describes the residence as a “spectacular rural estate”. Adding onto that, the estate is just five minutes from the scenic village of Great Tew, placing the Carters near celebrity neighbors like David and Victoria Beckham, Simon Cowell, and Ellen DeGeneres. Nearby amenities such as the exclusive Soho Farmhouse and the luxury farm shop Daylesford Organic.

A growing number of Hollywood stars have been swapping the glitz of Los Angeles for the quieter, more private life in the United Kingdom. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were among the first high-profile couples to make the move in late 2024, relocating to the Cotswolds.
