The Kansas City Chiefs can’t seem to stay out of the national spotlight this season. Some of their players, including standout wide receiver Rashee Rice, have been arrested. Now, Harrison Butker has been a major talking point due to his controversial speech.

Many have been outraged due to the nature of Butker’s sentiments. Although a lot of fans don’t agree with what he was trying to say, his head coach appears to be strongly supporting him anyway.

Andy Reid gives his take on Harrison Butker’s speech

Andy Reid finally broke the silence on Butker’s situation on Wednesday, when he was prompted by the media to speak about how he felt about the speech. And he used the opportunity to take a shot at the reporters.

“I don’t think he was speaking ill of women. He has opinions and we all respect that. I let you guys (the media) in this room and you have a lot of opinions I don’t like.”

It’s a fair point from Reid, who’s used to having to deal with criticism about the way he coaches and frequently has his statements analyzed under a microscope. Reid and the Chiefs are sticking by their kicker for the time being.
