Travis Kelce did not attend Taylor Swift’s inaugural Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires on Thursday, instead choosing to show his support for Patrick Mahomes, his quarterback.

While Swift performed for fans in Argentina, Travis attended Mahomes’ third annual Mahomies Foundation Gala, which included an auction. The foundation posted a video of Travis at the event, which took place at The Midland Theatre in Kansas City, on Instagram.

Mahomes’ foundation is “dedicated to improving the lives of children through initiatives that focus on health, wellness, underserved communities, and other charitable causes,” according to their website. It was created in 2019.

During a recent episode of the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, which he co-hosts with his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, the two suggested that Travis was headed “somewhere sunny.”

“Got anything you’re looking forward to going to?” Jason, 36, asked his younger brother, who had a bye week following the Chiefs’ victory over the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany.

Travis Kelce laughs off an NFL commentator’s Taylor Swift puns amid dating rumors: ‘Well Played’ “I may just say f— it and go somewhere nice, I don’t know.” “My skin is turning pale, so I need to go somewhere sunny,” the tight end replied.

This prompted Jason to inquire whether this region with sunshine was “closer to the equator.”Travis Kelce Skips Taylor Swift's First Buenos Aires Show to Attend Patrick Mahomes' Charity Auction

Others seemed to agree that the retreat would benefit the professional athlete.

“I think the bye week is a great time to get away from football, and I think that’s the idea,” Eli Manning told PEOPLE exclusively on Thursday. “It is the time to rest the body, rest the mind a little bit, recharge yourself to get ready for that second half of the season.”

Swift and Travis have spent a lot of time together since their public announcement in mid-October.

The “Love Story” singer fueled dating rumors when she attended three Kansas City Chiefs games in September, but it wasn’t until the couple made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live’s season 49 premiere that Swifties went crazy.

After the event, a source told PEOPLE that the couple had a PDA-filled date night at an afterparty at Catch Steak.

According to the insider, the couple stayed at the party “until after 4 a.m.,” and Travis kept “touching her, putting his hand on her lower back or putting his hands on her waist, and then they would do a little kiss.”

Travis and Taylor made it official on Instagram in late October — sort of.

The “You Belong With Me” singer posed for a shot with her beau, kissing him on the cheek as they stood alongside his teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. and his girlfriend Chariah Gordon. The adorable photo made it on social media.

“I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family,” Travis previously stated regarding her appearances at his games.

“It is gradually becoming more serious. Another insider told PEOPLE in late October that Travis and Swift share a strong work ethic, a deep respect for life and their careers, as well as a strong family bond and morals.
