Andy Reid has three Super Bowl rings and more than 300 combined wins in the regular season and playoffs — but one radio personality thinks he should step down as the Chiefs’ head coach.

Reid’s team suffered a devastating loss to the Eagles in the Super Bowl last Sunday, with Philly winning 40-22 (leading 34-0 at one point) and Patrick Mahomes not at his best as he committed three fouls.
And although Reid, 66, is considered one of the top coaches in the sport and has been to six Super Bowls, Fox Sports Radio’s Rob Parker thinks it’s time for him to go.

“Andy Reid should step down as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs,” Parker said on his radio show Wednesday, according to Awful Announcing. “And you’re like, ‘They just went to the Super Bowl three times. Andy Reid. Blah, blah, blah.’” This isn’t a postgame reaction because they lost the Super Bowl…
“Where were the adjustments? Where was the game plan? I’m not a football coach. People who have been coaches and football players have questioned the game plan – there was no running game at the beginning. And then you get behind, and then you have to pass the ball. This is what he did in Philadelphia all the time – like to pass the ball. Always throw the ball; they’re sick of that in Philadelphia.”
To Parker’s point, the Chiefs ran the ball just 11 times in Super Bowl LIX – with four of those coming on Mahomes’s touchdown runs.

The defender admitted after the game that he “hasn’t played to my standards” this season, and Parker believes Chiefs’ apparent problems extend beyond their most recent game.
“Secondly, this decline has been going on for two years,” Parker continued. “Last year, they won the Super Bowl, so it kind of masks how bad things have been. You remember with the receivers, and the struggles, and Patrick Mahomes. This is another year. Andy Reid is supposed to be an offensive genius. Why is Patrick Mahomes struggling so much when you can’t figure out how he’s not going to score 50 touchdowns and throw every ball down the field and be that much better?
“Can you just admit that Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been the quarterback he’s been the last two years? … Andy Reid is supposed to be that guy, but we haven’t seen that yet. It’s been a good run. The last two years have been disappointing regular seasons. Yeah, they went to the Super Bowl. Yeah, [they] won both of those. I’m not talking about the last two years. And this year, they got humiliated.”

The Chiefs finished 15-2 this regular season, though they only scored 30 points on two occasions—one of them an overtime win over the Buccaneers.
The season before, Kansas City had an unimpressive regular season by their lofty standards, finishing 11-6 and having to beat Buffalo and Baltimore on the road en route to their Super Bowl win.
“Second, this slump has been going on for two years,” Parker continued. “Last year, they won the Super Bowl, so it kind of masked how bad things were. You remember with the receivers, and the struggles, and Patrick Mahomes. This is another year. Andy Reid is supposed to be an offensive genius. Why is Patrick Mahomes having such a hard time when you can’t figure out how he’s not scoring 50 touchdowns and throwing every ball down the field and being much better?
“Can you just admit that Patrick Mahomes is not the quarterback he was the last two years? … Andy Reid is supposed to be that guy, but we haven’t seen that yet. It’s been a good run. The last two years have been disappointing regular seasons. Yeah, they went to the Super Bowl. Yeah, [they] won both of those. I’m not talking about the last two years. And this year, they’ve been humiliated.”
The Chiefs have a 15-2 record this regular season, although they’ve only allowed 30 points on two occasions — one of them an overtime win over the Buccaneers.
