Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez has opened up about the tumultuous times when they had to leave Manchester and move to the Middle East. She shared her thoughts in season three of her hit Netflix show, I Am Georgina. The Argentine model focused on life in the Middle East in the show’s new season, clarifying that she was relieved to move out of Manchester.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in November 2022 after mutual termination of his contract following an explosive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan. In the interview, the Al-Nassr frontman lambasted Manchester United management, especially the owners and coach Erik ten Hag. Saudi outfit Al-Nassr were quick to grab the opportunity, striking a multi-million dollar deal with the Portuguese marksman.

Speaking candidly about the entire ordeal, Georgina Rodriguez revealed that everything happened so quickly that the couple didn’t even have a house in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, they had to stay in a hotel for a whole month.

When Cris told me that he’d be playing for Al-Nassr, I was so relieved because I was ready to leave Manchester. I knew that something great awaited us and we were very motivated. I was very happy to come to Saudi Arabia,” said Georgina Rodriguez via Daily Mail.

“At first I experienced some ups and downs because we had never lived in a hotel for so long. There were days I didn’t want anyone to see me, but overall I was excited,” she added.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a revelation for the Knights of Najd ever since he joined the Middle Eastern outfit. In 70 games for Al-Nassr across competitions, the Portuguese has recorded 63 goals and 17 assists.

He also scored two goals (74′, 98′) in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup final against Al-Hilal to win the trophy. It is the club’s only silverware since Ronaldo’s arrival so far but it isn’t recognized as an official trophy.

In the third season of I Am Georgina, Georgina Rodriguez also opened up on Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement plans, claiming that he won’t hang his boots anytime soon. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 902nd goal (33′) against Al-Ettifaq on September 20 and is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down even at 39.

“I don’t think he will retire before the age of 50.”

The Portuguese no. 7 also discussed his retirement with former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand on the former’s YouTube channel UR. Cristiano. He said:

“I feel until now that I can dribble, shoot, score, and jump high. The day I feel unable to do that, I will take my bag and quit football, but I am far from this thing. I have scored 50 goals last season.”

Lastly, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to reach the magical figure of 1000 goals before hanging his boots.
