Kendrick Lamar’s concert was held on Juneteenth celebration
NBA stars showed up to Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Los Angeles
Kendrick Lamar’s“The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” concert at the Kia Forum on Wednesday night was a star-studded affair, with some of the biggest names in the NBA in attendance.
The event, held in celebration of Juneteenth, showcased not only Lamar’s musical prowess but also his ability to draw a crowd of high-profile athletes and celebrities.
NBA stars make their pick in the Kendrick vs Drake war
Among the attendees were NBA legends LeBron James, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, and Russell Westbrook.
These basketball superstars, known for their ties to Los Angeles, were seen enjoying the night, mingling with other celebrities and fans alike.
LeBron James, a familiar face at high-profile events, was spotted near the stage as rapper YG performed early in the concert.
James’ presence at the event was notable given his past close relationship with rapper Drake, who has been publicly feuding with Lamar.
This didn’t seem to deter James from showing his support for Lamar, further highlighting the evening’s significance.
Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan, both Los Angeles-area natives, were seen dancing near each other, embodying the local spirit of the event.
DeRozan, a proud Compton native, arrived early to show support for his fellow Angeleno, adding a touch of hometown pride to the festivities.
James Harden, another prominent NBA star, was captured on video with rapper Rick Ross.
Known for their distinctive beards, Harden and Ross appeared to be enjoying the concert, with Ross taking the opportunity to engage in some playful jabs at Drake.
Kendrick Lamar, who has dominated the music scene this year with his chart-topping diss tracks aimed at Drake, put on an unforgettable show.
His performance of “Euphoria,” complete with new lyrics, had the crowd in a frenzy, especially with LeBron James visibly enjoying the diss track from the Forum floor.
West Coast showed up for Kendrick Lamar
The concert featured a lineup of Southern California-based artists, including Tyler, the Creator, ScHoolboy Q, DJ Mustard, and Roddy Ricch, among others.
DJ Mustard, who produced Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us,” was a standout, bringing additional excitement to the night with surprise performances from Tyler the Creator and YG.
The event comes on the heels of a much-publicized feud between Lamar and Drake, a rivalry that has captivated both music and sports fans.
Even tennis stars like Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff have weighed in on the rap beef, highlighting its cultural impact.
As the night unfolded, it was clear that Kendrick Lamar’s“The Pop Out” was more than just a concert; it was a cultural event that brought together some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment.
