WWE does not need to rely on UFC stars to boost the company’s popularity, according to Seth Rollins.

A number of high profile names from the octagon have been linked with a move to the squared-circle in recent times.

Jon Jones is the latest from the world of MMA rumoured to be considering a switch, while Ronda Rousey has reportedly been training to make her WWE debut.

But former world champion Rollins is adamant that the current roster is star-studded enough.

The 31-year-old said: “I think we have maybe the most talented roster of all time.

“I don’t think we need anybody to help or crossover.

“If they want to come over to our world and have some fun then that’s cool but we’re happy doing our thing on our own.”

Although Rollins has his reservations, the WWE have already worked with a number of big names in the past to help boost ratings.

Rousey made a memorable appearance back at WrestleMania 31 alongside The Rock as she got one over Stephanie McMahon.

And Triple H has recently invited Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather to appear on Monday Night Raw prior to their boxing match later this month.

However, Rollins is preparing for his own big match-up as he looks set to team-up with Dean Ambrose to take on Sheamus and Cesaro at SummerSlam.

And the annual event, which takes place in Brooklyn this Sunday, is one that holds many happy memories for the “The King Slayer”.

Rollins said: “SummerSlam was a big part of my childhood and there’ve been some legendary matches.

“I really liked it when Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior teamed up against Slaughter and Adnan one year.

“I loved it when Liz and Savage got married too. Bulldog and Bret at Wembley, the TLC match between The Hardyz, Dudleys, Edge & Christian; there’s a tonne of memories.”

WWE latest news: Ronda Rousey to be sensationally joined by UFC star husband Travis Browne in wrestling

RONDA ROUSEY could be joined in WWE by her UFC fighter husband Travis Browne.

The former world champ has long been linked with a move into the wrestling world.

And now it appears that her partner is trying to get in on the act.

The huge 6ft 7inch giant has lost his lost four UFC fights, the latest of which was against Oleksiy Oliynk by submission in July.

TMZ quizzed Browne on whether he would be interested in swapping the octagon for the squared-circle, and he left the door firmly open.

He said: “We’re still making decisions on my part… I’m not going to say no.”

Meanwhile, Rousey is not quite being so open on her plans.

Last week WWE chief Stephanie McMahon told the 30-year-old that “the offer still stands” for her to join the global sports entertainment company.

But Rousey is remaining tight-lipped on a possible deal with the wrestling promotion.

Also speaking to TMZ, she said when asked for an update on talks: “If you were a real fan, would you really wanna know?

“I enjoy it more that way, and I don’t wanna ruin anything.”

She fuelled speculation by recently appearing on WWE programming alongside some of her fellow MMA friends and was confronted by Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley.

That led to speculation that she was due to make her debut at Survivor Series alongside Shayna Bazsler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir against WWE’s Four Horsewomen – leading to a WrestleMania feud with Charlotte.

Rousey famously appeared at WrestleMania several years ago and confronted Stephanie and her husband Triple H alongside The Rock in the ring.

She sent both leaders of the then Authority tumbling with an arm bar, receiving a huge reaction from the crowd.

The star has already trained at WWE’s performance centre in Florida and has made no secret of her happiness at seeing the increased platform given the female wrestlers over recent years.

The WWE Universe was saddened this summer when the legendary Bobby “The Brain” Heenan sadly passed away.
