Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes had the contract signing on SmackDown this weekLogan Paul and Cody Rhodes had the contract signing on SmackDown this week

At King and Queen of the Ring, Cody Rhodes will put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Logan Paul. The match was made official on the latest episode of SmackDown.

Last Friday on the blue brand, General Manager Nick Aldis announced that after a successful title defense against AJ Styles at Backlash France, Cody would put his championship on the line against the Social Media Sensation Logan Paul next.

This week on the Jim Cornette Experience, the wrestling veteran claimed that Logan Paul was in the main event picture probably because the event was in Saudi Arabia. He reasoned that Logan was huge in the country because of his social media presence. Cornette felt this was the same reason The Maverick got the main event spot against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022.

“They like Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia because he’s a big social media guy. And he had the match with Roman in Saudi Arabia, didn’t he?” [From 01:55 to 02:03]

Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul signed the contract on SmackDown

This week on SmackDown, Logan Paul used his guile to escape defending the United States Championship against Cody Rhodes. The stars were on the show for a contract signing segment.

While the match was initially billed as Champion vs. Champion, Logan claimed that his title would not be on the line. The United States Champion tore off the original contract and claimed his own lawyer had drawn up a new one for the match. He handed it over to Nick Aldis and asked him to make the match.

This led to Aldis and Paul having some back-and-forth on the mic. Finally, Rhodes had enough of Logan’s insults and finally signed the contract making the match official.

It will be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes can hold on to his nerves and beat Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia.
