JUST IN: Nicki Minaj Arrested At Amsterdam Airport Over Alleged Possession Of Drugs With Cardi B Felt At Peace During Social Media Break

Nicki Minaj’s fans were left angry after the American rapper’s gig at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena was called off at the last minute.

This followed the singer’s arrest at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on suspicion of exporting soft drugs.

Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, popularly known as Nicki Minaj, is a Trinidadian-born rapper and singer-songwriter based in the United States.

According to Dutch police, the rapper was fined and allowed to continue her journey.

However, her Manchester concert was postponed as she did not make it to the city on time on Saturday. About 20,000 fans had waited at the concert venue for the star.

One of the fans, Imogen Pope, 18, from Newton-le-Wilows in Merseyside, told the BBC that she spent “£150 for my ticket and booked a day off work for it, and we sat there for about three hours waiting and we got told it’s not happening”.

She said she was “gutted”.

Similarly, Ellis Day, 17, from Cheshire, said he was “absolutely devastated”.

“We’ve come here, we spent all day getting ready, to see this happen.

“It’s just really disappointing when we’ve got our hopes up and spent the money, and we get told at the very last minute that she’s not going to show up,” the fan said.

BBC reports that there were some boos in the Manchester arena before everyone filed out following Minaj’s failure to make it there.

According to videos on social media and flight data, the plane thought to be transporting Minaj was still in Amsterdam when the Manchester show was postponed.

“I’m disappointed because I saw this afternoon that Nicki Minaj got arrested in Amsterdam,” said Kian Young, 23, who had travelled from Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire.

The arrest was beyond the arena’s control, but Mr Young was one of many to question why no official statement was made earlier

Cardi B felt ‘at peace’ during social media break

Cardi B experienced a profound sense of tranquility when she stepped away from social media, the 31-year-old rapper revealed, despite refusing to let online critics drive her off the platform altogether.

In a Rolling Stone interview, when asked about her self-care routine, the Hip-Hop superstar emphasized the serenity she found while taking a social media hiatus.

“Being at home,” Cardi B said. “When I was off social media and nobody knew what I was doing, I was at peace a lot.”

Despite cherishing her offline moments, Cardi B remains committed to staying active on social media for her children, Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2.

“But what am I going to do? Never post or never work again because that’s peace? No,” she stated firmly. “I don’t ever want my daughter or my son to ever give up on something because they can’t take the pressure of what people say about them. I got to set that example.”

Cardi, known for hits like “Bongos,” persists through the vitriol and maintains a solid resolve to not be broken by her detractors.

“It’s like, ‘Y’all never going to break me.’ Because I got something to prove to myself. I also got to prove something to the haters. I’ve got to prove it to my own kids.”

Moreover, the rapper acknowledged that some fans had expressed dissatisfaction with her social media inactivity through her social media manager.

“They snatched him in a group chat,” she told Rolling Stone. “Like, ‘Hey, us BardiGang, we want to express something to you.’ And I guess he was like, ‘OK, let me take your suggestions.’ And they were like, ‘Well, Cardi is not really doing anything.’”
