D.C. man, 30, who is named TAYLOR SWIFT reveals how sharing a moniker with the popstar has given his career a MAJOR boost - despite making him the target of cruel bullies as a child

Taylor, 30, from Washington, D.C., first heard of the singer, 34, at age 15 – and initially, he thought the fact that they had the same name wouldn’t ‘impact him’ much since he was under the impression that she would fade out after a ‘hit song or two.’

How wrong he was.

Instead, the Cruel Summer songstress went on to become one of the most popular superstars on the globe – and her soaring popularity has had an immense influence on Taylor’s life.

He explained in a recent essay for Business Insider that having the same name as the musician has helped him exceedingly while working in the cut-throat world of politics – noting that is serves as a great way to break the ice when meeting new people and helps him to ‘stand out’ and be ‘remembered’ afterwards.

But the Washington, D.C.-based 30-year-old admitted that it hasn’t always been easy for him, as he was often the subject of mean jokes from his peers when he was a teenager.

‘I was just a kid trying to live my life, and I was now sharing a name with a big singer,’ he recalled.

‘Similar to most kids, I was trying to figure out who I wanted to be, but a couple of high school bullies and a choir teacher who would make jokes about my name didn’t help.’

Taylor explained that he considered changing his name before heading to college, but he ultimately decided after ‘a lot of self-realization’ to ’embrace it.’

‘I remember thinking, I was given this name for a reason, and I’m going to grow, and become who I’m meant to become with it,’ he continued.
