It all started one day in August 1996, when Hoang Khai Ninh accidentally found a small python lying motionless with a wound in its tail caused by a sharp knife in a garden.

An animal lover since childhood, Hoang Khai Ninh immediately brought the animal back home and followed the advice of a local doctor, using herbs to treat its wound.
