Dalton Dover and Bryce Leatherwood team up for a lively cover of Post Malone’s latest release, “Pour Me A Drink” feat. Blake Shelton.
With a couple beers in their hands and a bit of help from two guitar players, Dover and Leatherwood take turns delivering their take on the popular track. Each set of vocals lights up the room with twangy grit and a passion that elevates the carefree narrative of two friends looking to forget their worries of the week and enjoy a cold one on a Friday night.
“Me and my brother @daltondover_music had to give y’all our rendition of this BADASS song 🔥What do y’all think of this duet?” Leatherwood captioned his post on Instagram while Dover wrote, “country music, cold beer, & damn good buddies.”
The pair of artists come then together on the chorus in a string of harmonies that has fans begging them to officially record this stripped-down rendition of “Pour Me A Drink.”
“Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke/ I’m ’bout to get on a buzz, I’m ’bout to get on a roll/ Yeah, I been breakin’ my back just keepin’ up with the Joneses/ Y’all know what I mean, and y’all know how it goes/ When it’s up on a Friday and I’m paid, slide one over my way/ I can’t even think when I can hear one callin’ my name (Hey),” Leatherwood and Dover sing on the chorus.
Penned by Louis Bell, Austin Post, Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Jordan Dozzi and Rocky Block, the buzz-worthy tune’s official release came just days after CMA Fest 2024 where the original artists, Shelton and Malone, performed the song live at Nissan Stadium.
Leatherwood and Dover have quite a few things in common. On top of being Georgia natives, they also both got their start on the singing competition show, The Voice, with Blake Shelton serving as their coach. Dover auditioned for Season 16 and won over the judges with his cover of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” He made it all the way to the battle rounds before being eliminated.
Leatherwood, on the other hand, had a bit more success during his run on Season 22. The member of Team Blake earned a spot in the finale and then was ultimately crowned winner of the entire competition.

Both artists have continued to find success in their music careers since concluding their time on the show. Dover most recently released a song titled “Here’s The Deal,” which finds him tipping his hat to his hometown and celebrating the powerful bond one can have with the place that raised them. He is also currently cruising around the country, bringing his talent to fairs and festivals across the country, in addition to serving as support on select dates of Sam Hunt’s Locked Up Tour.
Meanwhile, last month Leatherwood unveiled his reflective new track, “Still Learning.” This song was written by Randy Montana, Jeremy Spillman and Brett Sheroky, and offers listeners a taste of the rising country star’s unfiltered vulnerability as he lends his baritone vocals to the reality that the most important lessons in life often end up being the hardest to accept. Leatherwood also reminds fans that even when you think you’ve got everything figured out, there will always be more to learn.
He is fresh off his first-ever headline tour and is now making his way to various stages including the Canton River Rock Festival and Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre. In between those dates, Bryce Leatherwood will step into the coveted circle and make his Grand Ole Opry debut on September 14.
