Post Malone stacked the odds disproportionately in his favor on his country debut, F-1 Trillion.

The album, which dropped Aug. 16, features collaborations with most of Nashville’s heavy hitters. How can an album with Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton be anything other than a hit? It doesn’t look like Malone is going to find out, as he is on track to top the charts for the first time since 2019.

Will Post Malone Dethrone Taylor Swift?

F-1 Trillion is expected to notch anywhere from 165 to 185 million streams, with album sales ranging from 60,000 to 70,000 units, according to Hits Daily Double.

The X/Twitter account @chartdata predicted that Post Malone’s pivot to country music will debut atop the Billboard 200 with anywhere from 200,000 to 225,000 units sold in its first week.

Malone last topped the charts with 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding.

Of course, the “I Had Some Help” singer has to get through Taylor Swift first. The Tortured Poets Department, Swift’s 11th studio album of original material, has spent 14 weeks atop the Billboard 200. (Ironically, Post Malone appears on the lead single, “Fortnight.”) TTPD sold 85,000 units last week, bringing the total to an unbelievable 5.3 million since its release.

Malone has been no stranger to the Top 10 since he began soft launching his country career earlier this year. “I Had Some Help,” his duet with Morgan Wallen, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has now become the longest-running No. 1 song of 2024.

The Music Industry Reacts to Posty’s Country Debut

Post Malone makes his country debut with the full support of Nashville behind him. After the album dropped last Friday (Aug. 16), country legend Randy Travis took to social media to congratulate the GRAMMY nominee.

“Congrats on the new album, @PostMalone!” wrote the “Three Wooden Crosses” singer. “Thanks for hanging out after the show and teaching Randy a few beer pong tips…Truly one of the nicest guys out there. Make sure to give F-1 Trillion a listen!”

Lainey Wilson, who features on the F-1 Trillion track “Nosedive,” was also positively glowing with pride for her friend. “Country music loves ya brother!” wrote the “Hang Tight Honey” singer on X/Twitter. “I’m so happy to be a part of this record.”

Wilson concluded, “you’re 1 in F-trillion @PostMalone!”
