Selena and Justin had an on-and-off relationship for eight years, from 2010 to 2018, during which Justin briefly dated Hailey. However, in 2018, Selena and Justin officially ended their relationship.
Shortly after, Justin married Hailey, formerly Baldwin, following a quick engagement. The couple tied the knot on September 13, 2019, at a New York City courthouse.

On Thursday night, Justin and Hailey announced they are expecting their first child together via a heartfelt Instagram post. This news may have come as a shock to Selena, who is speculated to be going through a “tough” time by experts, reports the Mirror.
Senior therapist and relationship expert Sally Baker from Working On The Body stated: “First, love is the deepest and the most enduring. No one loves as profoundly, as committed or whole-heartedly as the first love.”
“Nothing is potentially as poignant or painful as seeing your first love move on with someone else. Even though you can wish them well and be happy with how your romantic life is playing out, there will be touch points of pain as you watch events from the sidelines of your ex’s life.”

She continued: “Your ex’s announcement that their partner is having a baby is the hardest. New life is always fantastic news, but it’s hard to hear. ‘It could have been me. It should have been me’ may only exist for a moment but it’s human nature and vulnerability to accept it’s a natural reaction.”
Reflecting on Selena’s social media activity following the news, Sally added: “As the world focuses on Bieber’s news Gomez knows the world will then look for reaction. I’m pleased she has a hand to hold and love in her life. This is a tough one.”
