With Jelly Roll expected to make an appearance, the country star decided to help Wallen out when he announced a free concert taking place for those who bought a ticket to see Wallen. Taking the stage, Jelly Roll took a moment to praise Wallen for putting his health first.

While entertaining the packed venue, Jelly Roll explained the ongoing situation with Wallen and how he barely made it through the show due to his illness. He said, “I wanted to say this early in the show, because I want to make no mistake about this. Morgan Wallen is a dear friend of mine, who is so sick I could not believe he did that show last night. This isn’t no bullsh*t. I’m gonna stand up for my friend when it’s right to stand up for my friend. My friend is sick, y’all. My friend is sick as sh*t, and you post that sh*t on the internet. Cause my dude is sick as f*cking sh*t y’all. I told him don’t do the show last night, I told him.”

Given that some fans are upset over Wallen canceling his concert, Jelly Roll appeared thrilled by the idea, hoping his friend takes time to recover. “I’m glad he took the day to rest his body. I was heartbroken, I didn’t want to leave without singing some music for some motherf*****s that came out for this.”

While not giving away the details surrounding his illness, Wallen shared a message on Twitter, explaining his upcoming canceled shows. He wrote, “I hate to reschedule shows but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today. I would not give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight and as a result, I need to move tonight’s Tampa show to Oct. 4 and next week’s Charlotte shows to Oct. 18 and 19.”
