‘American Idol’ Fans Go Wild for Abi Carter Announcement

Abi Carter Religion Revealed: Exploring The Christian Faith Of The American Idol Star

It’s been nearly two months since Abi Carter collapsed to the American Idol stage in shock. The 21-year-old Indio, California native dazzled viewers all season with her soaring vocals and beguiling stage presence. Ultimately, viewers crowned Carter the season 22 winner over 23-year-old Will Moseley of Hazlehurst, Georgia.

Since then, life has been a whirlwind for the singer-songwriter. She has performed the national anthem at local hockey games and recently announced her first full concert. Now, the latest American Idol has sent fans into a frenzy once again with a new social media announcement.

‘American Idol’ Winner Promises New Music

Abi Carter caught fans’ attention when she posted a carousel of black-and-white photos to her Instagram page Sunday (July 7.)

“new sooooongs coming sooooooon,” wrote the American Idol champ, punctuating the announcement with a winking emoji.

Carter’s post was (excuse the pun) music to American Idol fans’ ears. “AC1 about to be my most streamed album of all time,” commented one Instagram user.

Another fan had a bold prediction. “You’ll be the next main pop girl in 2024,” they wrote in the comments. (Although, that prediction seems far less bold when you remember Carter’s incredible American Idol audition. You know—the one where Luke Bryan declared her the winner three months early.)

If you’re wondering whether Carter plans to premiere any of these songs during her July 27 show at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, you aren’t alone. Unfortunately, the “This Isn’t Over” singer isn’t telling. “maaayyybe, guess you’ll have to come,” the season 22 winner cheekily replied to an Instagram comment.

Is Another ‘Idol’ Shakeup Coming?

While fans have closely been following Abi Carter’s career, the hot topic for American Idol viewers is currently next season’s judging panel. Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie have sat in the judging chairs since ABC revived the series in 2018. Perry announced in February that she would step down after season 22. Now, viewers are on pins and needles waiting to learn if Bryan and Richie are being replaced too.

In a recent interview, Luke Bryan revealed that executives remained “tight-lipped” about his and Richie’s futures on the show. “We currently haven’t heard what the story is on who’s coming back, and if Lionel and I are coming back,” he said.
