As it stands, the Pittsburgh Steelers will not have veteran cornerback Cam Sutton for the first half of the 2024 season.

Sutton, who the Steelers signed to a one-year contract last month, has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2024 season thanks to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Sutton’s was punished due to his arrest for misdemeanor battery related to an alleged domestic violence incident in March. The 29-year-old was released by the Detroit Lions after an arrest warrant was issued.
After Sutton’s ban was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter Monday afternoon, fans took to social media to offer their thoughts.
“Suspended but not banned or suspended for the entire season… yet if you gamble on a game… they’ll ban or suspend you for the entire season. I guess we know where ur priorities are @nfl,” one person said.
“Very worth it signing folks (Sarcasm),” added a Steelers fan.
“Interesting way to say he beat on his lady,” said a third commenter.
“The ‘March incident’ Schefter is obfuscating was Sutton attacking a longtime partner (and parent of his three kids) by slamming her into a wall, biting her neck to the point that drew blood, and choking her until she was unconscious. Schefter is such an insult to journalism,” chimed in freelance journalist Marc Delucchi.
Sutton was originally a third-round pick of the Steelers out of the University of Tennessee in 2017.
He spent his first six NFL seasons with Pittsburgh before suiting up for the Lions in 2023.
