Luka Doncic Goes Off On Snoop Dogg: “Who’s Crying Now, Motherf—er!”
Luka Doncic claps back at Snoop Dogg in Timberwolves crowd.
It was a wild scene in Minneapolis on Thursday as Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks rallied to a 29-point lead over the Timberwolves. The highlight of the night came in the third quarter when Luka Doncic completely unleashed on a courtside heckler.
“Who’s crying now motherf**ker?”
Luka was going off on the court and finished the game with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. The man on the other side of this clip is notorious hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, who also happens to be a lifelong Lakers fan. It seems like Snoop was giving Luka a hard time early in the game and Doncic felt like returning his energy 10-fold en route to the NBA Finals.
Snoop, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is an icon in the world of music and he’s well-involved in the NBA community. While Luka is not a personal rival of his, he called him out before back in 2020 after a blowout win. As a hardcore Lakers fan, Snoop had no stakes in this Western Finals but it seems he was rooting for the Timberwolves to turn the tides and extend their season to another game. Luka Doncic was clearly not about it.
With the game pretty much over already and Doncic on fire, he couldn’t help but respond just like he couldn’t help but talk in Rudy Gobert’s face after making the game-winner in Game 2. After averaging 33.9 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.2 rebounds per game on 49.7% shooting in the regular season, the Slovenian star has elevated his game to another level in the playoffs, and now the Mavericks are on the verge of winning it all.
Luka Doncic And Kyrie Irving Are The Best Backcourt In the NBA
Before Game 5, there were already debates about what this playoff run would mean for Luka’s legacy. After winning the Euroleague MVP at 18, and getting drafted 3rd overall in the 2018 Draft, the bar was set high for him from the start and he’s had no problems meeting expectations.
Now that he’s with Kyrie Irving, a former NBA champion with the Cavaliers, Doncic finally has the co-star he’s been waiting for and we’re seeing the results play out this postseason and there is some talk about them being the greatest backcourt ever.
“There is a debate out there, is this the best backcourt in NBA history? That’s kinda cool,” said Mavericks coach Jason Kidd. “Doesn’t happen all the time. It works.”
Of course, the job is not yet finished for the Mavericks. With four more games left to win, the Mavs cannot afford to lose their focus and Doncic must keep this hot streak going for as long as he can. The Celtics will be a major challenge for Luka’ and his team but judging from his response to Snoop Dogg, the 25-year-old is currently more fired up than ever before.
It’s good that Luka is feeling himself after this win but there won’t be too long to celebrate with the Finals taking place in just a few days. With a chance to become champions, Doncic, Irving, and every Mavericks player will be leaving everything on the line in this upcoming series and Doncic will be ready for whatever comes his way.
