Martha Stewart being besties with rapper Snoop Dogg initially seems unlikely, that’s until you understand that they two actually have more in common than one would think.

For the last 15 years, Snoop, 52, and Martha have been friends, and the many sweet photos they have taken together over the years often capture their closeness. The dynamic duo came to know each other in 2008, first meeting when the cooking personality invited the Gin ‘N Juice rapper on her culinary series, The Martha Stewart Show, that year. A year later Snoop reappeared on Martha’s show to bake brownies, and the new friends quipped about “the most important part” of his dessert recipe.

After spending their days in Martha’s kitchen for her cooking show, they teamed up to tease Justin Bieber on national television.

Snoop and Martha linked up as roasters on Comedy Central’s 2015 Justin Bieber Roast, which was just the beginning of a series of co-hosting gigs with the two of them. In 2016 Martha and Snoop partnered with each other to host the VH1 celebrity cooking show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, and in 2021 they co-hosted Snoop & Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween – a Halloween-themed food competition.

That same year they co-hosted a Puppy Bowl together, which they also did in 2022. They even co-starred together in a Super Bowl commercial for Sketchers last year. The bond between Snoop and Martha is undeniable and doesn’t seem to be waning at all. Their connection is a testament to how much Martha values the hip-hop icon, and what he brings to her life.

“When you work with someone like Snoop, it’s like having a sidekick. How great it is,” the businesswoman told People in a past interview. “That’s why all the comedians have sidekicks and bands because it loosens them up and lets them be freer. Snoop is my freedom.”

Snoop’s feelings are mutual. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016 that Martha was his “homegirl” and they had “a special bond that goes way back.”

Additionally, according to the Daily Express, “Snoop admitted his respect for Stewart for ‘doing her time,’ when she was sent down in 2004 for five months after being found guilty of a series of charges related to inside trading.”

Snoop can relate to doing time since he has been arrested eight times throughout his life.

Martha admitted during their joint interview on CBS Sunday Morning in 2017 that her criminal history gave her and Snoop common ground.

“Yes, that [conviction] helped because people knew how crazy and unfair… all of that was,” she said on the show. “And, in Snoop’s world, it gave me the street cred I was lacking.”
