Morgan Wallen Drops Highly-Anticipated Ballad Following BST Hyde Park Debut
Morgan Wallen just keeps succeeding despite the controversies that have surrounded the superstar.
Country music star Morgan Wallen has excited fans once again with the release of his new ballad, “Lies Lies Lies.” Following his headlining debut on July 4 at London’s BST Hyde Park, Wallen’s latest single is hitting the air waves. The London event also featured performances by Riley Green, Ella Langley, and Ernest, adding to the star-studded lineup.
“Lies Lies Lies” was penned by a team of acclaimed songwriters, including ACM Songwriter of the Year winner Jessie Jo Dillon, Josh Miller, Daniel Ross, and two-time Grammy winner Chris Tompkins. The track was produced by Joey Moi and recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London in December 2023, shortly after Wallen’s sold-out show at the O2 London on December 3.
The recording session was part of Wallen’s seven-song Abbey Road Sessions, which were digitally released on March 3, 2024, commemorating the one-year anniversary of his third studio album, “One Thing at a Time.”
Reflecting on the experience, Wallen shared, “Playing the O2 in London last fall and getting to record at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band. We will never forget it. I’m so excited to release these Abbey Road Sessions for my fans on the one-year anniversary of ‘One Thing At A Time.’ They make all this possible.”
The Abbey Road Sessions also include tracks like “Sunrise,” “Everything I Love,” “I Deserve a Drink,” and a cover of Nothing But Thieves’ “Graveyard Whistling.”
Meanwhile, Wallen’s collaboration with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” has dominated the charts, holding the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and leading the Hot Country Songs chart for seven weeks.
Despite the controversies that have surrounded Wallen, he just keeps succeeding. At one point Wallen had six songs within the top 10 of the Hot Country Songs chart all at the same time, making him the first artist to do so.
Wallen is currently on his “One Night At A Time” tour which extends through 2024 and includes both U.S. and European dates.
