Breanna Stewart’s Insane WNBA Record Is About to Be Stolen by Caitlin Clark*

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is having a historical rookie season, and after Saturday’s showdown with the Minnesota Lynx, she got one step closer to breaking another WNBA feat.

Caitlin Clark rallies Fever past Liberty 83-78 with first triple-double by WNBA rookie

In their 90-80 loss to Minnesota, Clark dropped 23 points, five rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes of playing time. It’s her 11th game this 2024 season to have a 20-5-5 performance, which is just one shy of the WNBA record.

New York Liberty sensation Breanna Stewart owns the record for most 20-5-5 games in a single season with 12, which she set in 2023, according to Stat Mamba.

It is worth noting that since the WNBA returned from the Olympic break, Caitlin Clark has put up a 20-5-5 stat line in all three games she has played so far. The Fever are 2-1 in those matches, with their lone loss coming against the Lynx.

Having said that, Clark is well on track to surpassing Stewart and setting a new 20-5-5 mark. She is averaging 17.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists this 2024, and with 11 games left, she has plenty of opportunities to steal the record.

It would definitely be an incredible milestone if she achieves it, especially since it’s not only a rookie record.

Of course, Clark’s focus will be on leading the Fever to the playoffs. They dropped to 13-16 on the season after the defeat to the Lynx, but they remain firmly in the seventh seed—one-and-half game ahead of the eighth-seeded Chicago Sky. But it wouldn’t be too bad to see her make more history while doing so.
