Brittany Mahomes has a strong message for the “haters.”

The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a not-to-subtle declaration for critics on social media after catching backlash for reportedly liking one of Donald Trump‘s recent posts about his 2024 campaign platform.

“I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote in a message shared to her Instagram Story on Friday, Aug. 23. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

She did not directly address the situation she was referring to, leaving her followers to assume what she could have been talking about.

Many users on X (formerly Twitter) initially took issue with Mahomes’ reported support of the former president after seeing her name in the list of “likers” on his Aug. 13 Instagram post, which laid out his agenda for becoming president again, should he get elected in November.

In the post, Trump listed out several campaign promises, including plans to “Keep men OUT of women’s sports,” “carry out the largest deportation operation in American history” and “cut federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory, Radical Gender Ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content for our children.”

Internet users weren’t shy about calling out Mahomes’ reported support of the far-right agenda, including one person on X who called it “very disappointing.”

But Mahomes’ “like,” which was reported by multiple outlets including The New York Post, has since disappeared. The Texas native has also never endorsed a candidate before and does not follow Trump’s account on Instagram, making ideas about her political leanings still unconfirmed.
