This marks the first time in show history that all judges are past winners.
The Voice has announced that season 29, set to air in 2026, will feature three fan-favorite judges.
This special season, called “Battle of Champions,” will return with a unique judging panel composed entirely of winners: Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine. Each of whom has won The Voice during their careers.
Kelly Clarkson, who previously served as a coach from seasons 14 to 21 and returned for season 23, has won 4 seasons.
Adam Levine, the original coach, won season 1 and subsequent seasons 5 and 9, and has been a judge from seasons 1 to 16 and again in season 27.
John Legend, who has appeared in seasons 16-22, 24-25, and 27, has won once—his debut season.
This season, there are only 3 judges instead of the usual 4, and some fans are speculating about a possible fourth judge being added later. Could the network be hiding a fourth judge, or is this season just incredibly unique? Only time will tell.
With these judges, fans wonder who will emerge victorious in this special winners’ season.
The Judges Are Not The Only Change That Fans Can Expect This Season
The network announced the coaches alongside the following details:
“The landmark season will be infused with fast-paced, competitive elements delivering a fresh twist on the format that raises the stakes for coaches and artists alike.”
Unlike previous seasons, each coach will start with 10 artists in the blind auditions instead of the usual 14.
Although all coaches are winners, this is not an all-star season, meaning it will feature entirely new artists rather than past contestants who advanced far in their initial competition.
Small changes include a new voting segment near the semifinals and finals, where super fans and former contestants will vote in real time, a first for the show.
NBC guarantees that this season will be a “fresh twist” on the beloved show.
Kelly Clarkson’s History On The Voice
Kelly Clarkson is back!
Rumours circulated earlier this year about the singer’s potential end of her talk show, so this news should be exciting for her fans. Not only is she going to continue her talk show, but she is also going to film The Voice concurrently.
Clarkson has had a long and successful run on the show.
According to NBC, Clarkson has won The Voice 4 times! “In Season 14 with Brynn Cartelli; in Season 15 with Chevel Shepherd; in Season 17 with Jake Hoot; and in Season 21 with Girl Named Tom. She served as a Coach from Seasons 14-21 and came back for Season 23.”
This season should be an exciting new chapter for Clarkson. Maybe she will be in the winners round?
