Jelly Roll Pauses Festival Performance to Assist Fan Hooked up to “Full-Blown IV” in Crowd

Jelly Roll Gives 'Weight Loss Update,' Sheds 23 Pounds In Just Two Weeks - Country Now

Jelly Roll continues to prove that he’s just a real stand-up dude. During a recent performance at Midland, Michigan’s Tailgates N’ Tallboys event, he spotted a fan who was standing in the crowd while hooked up to an IV.

“I’ve seen a lot of crazy s–t at my shows. But this young lady is out here with a full-blown IV,” he addressed the crowd after pausing his set, according to a fan-captured video. He then added, directed at the woman, “You’re a cancer survivor? How many people are with you?”

Jelly Roll then called a member of his team to the stage to help the woman out. “Let’s get her a chair somewhere,” he said. “Somebody on my team, let’s get her somewhere more comfortable to watch the rest of the show.” He sweetly told the woman, “We’ll get you off your feet baby, ok?”

The woman, named Kathi Montalvo, posted about her experience on her own TikTok account. She shared that she didn’t care if she had to go with her IV and feeding tube, because a Jelly Roll show was “at the top of my bucket list.” She initially shared that she was worried security wouldn’t let her in. However, Montalvo got into the event, although she also shared that the seat on her walker broke and she only had the IV pole to lean on.

According to Montalvo, Jelly Roll had her moved in front of the barrier to a chair and even got her some water. “It was the best concert of my life,” Montalvo said on social media.

Jelly Roll Becomes Official Deputy Sheriff in Michigan Prior to Festival Appearance

In other Jelly Roll news, not only is he a good guy, he’s also a deputy sheriff in Genesee County, Michigan. During a ribbon cutting for a music studio at Genesee County Jail, Sheriff Chris Swanson swore Jelly Roll in as an official deputy sheriff. He has a real badge and everything.

“You have an ability to touch lives like nobody I’ve ever seen,” said Sheriff Swanson over the weekend. “It’d be my honor to extend a deputy status,” he continued, adding “He’s going to be sworn in today as a deputy sheriff for the County of Genesee, right here in Flint, Michigan, with his own badge and his own I.D.”

In a TikTok video captured by a local radio station, Jelly Roll laughed as if he couldn’t believe it was real. He’s gone from a felony conviction to country music sweetheart to deputy sheriff. “That’s second chances,” said Sheriff Swanson while handing Jelly Roll his new badge. After that, Jelly went on to perform at Tailgate N’ Tallboys, where he spotted Kathi Montalvo and apparently took his role as deputy sheriff seriously.
