Previously unseen pictures of Amy Winehouse as she embarked on her career in the music industry have been unveiled.

The snaps show Amy looking fresh-faced, young and healthy, just as she took her first steps into the limelight.

Her dark tresses cascade over her shoulders in loose waves and her makeup is kept simple.

It was to be a few years before Amy discovered her trademark beehive hair style, and lashings of thick black eyeliner.

She smiles for the camera, modelling a variety of outfits and with her figure looking healthy.

The pictures will be unveiled in a new exhibition called ‘Hope’ at Zebra One Gallery in London on September 13 – the day before what would have been Amy’s birthday.

The exhibition will raise funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The pictures have been captured by acclaimed photographer Phil Knott who told MailOnline: “This was the funny, healthy and remarkable Amy that I remembered, and captured in those early years.

“When I unearthed this box of photos, after moving to LA, I was moved by how full of hope, beauty and shy innocence they were.”

All of the auction money will go to the charity, set up Amy’s memory, to help support young people reach their full potential.

Amy battled her demons in the public eye, suffering a long struggle with drink and drugs.

She was just 27 when she was found dead in her flat in Camden, London in July 2011. She tragically passed away from alcohol poisoning.
