Philadelphia 76ers have been told who their first trade choice should be if Paul George and LeBron James don’t show any interest in signing as free agents.

All eyes are on the Philadelphia 76ers heading into the offseason. If they play their cards right this summer, they are a team that can become genuine title contenders moving forward.
Some high-profile names like LeBron James and Paul George have been linked with a move to Philadelphia, with the 76ers having the cap space flexibility to pull a move of that magnitude off.
George’s future with the Los Angeles Clippers is up in the air, with the team failing to get past the first round of the playoffs over the past three seasons.
Things seem a bit more certain when it comes to James’ future in Los Angeles but in the past, ‘The King’ has shown that he is open to making a big decision or two when the time is right.
It is very possible though that the 76ers fail to land either of them this summer. So, they must have alternative plans in place.
The 76ers have been told that Jimmy Butler should be their first trade choice if James and George do not end up in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’.
Greg Swartz wrote in his article ‘Dream Trade Targets for Every NBA Team’ on Bleacher Report: “If Paul George or LeBron James don’t show any interest in signing as free agents, Philly’s first trade choice needs to be Butler.”
Of course, Butler had a short stint in Philadelphia before joining the Miami Heat. In hindsight, that was a bad move for the 76ers.
Butler has gone on to guide the Heat to two NBA Finals appearances since then and established himself as one of the best playoff performers in the game, earning the nickname ‘Playoff Jimmy’.
On the other hand, the 76ers have not even been able to make the Conference finals, getting eliminated from the first round of the playoffs this time around.
