“Do I look good enough?”: Henry Cavill Dreaded Going Shirtless In $226m Movie Despite Torturous Training Transforming Him Into A Greek God With An Eight Pack

Prior to being the last son of Krypton and changing the landscape of Metropolis by defeating the evil General Zod, Henry Cavill was chosen by the Gods to fight another enemy.

It was 2013, and Zack Snyder came out with a visually breathtaking approach to the big blue boy scout in Man of Steel. The film was followed by sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes photos of Cavill getting in shape for the role.

Lifting weights and committing himself to intense training sessions to get that perfect Superman physique, Cavill went all out with his rigorous efforts as he needed to become a formidable defender of his new home.

Despite the fact that he radiates that Englishman confidence in his personality, the actor has always been a little conscious about his appearance.

Henry Cavill Had Anxiety Going Shirtless For Immortals

Man of Steel made Cavill look like he could be shirtless throughout the film, but he always displayed his anxiety before showing his Godly transformation.

His lack of confidence may sound too unreal but he has always dreaded being a chubby person as he was in the early days of his career.

Immortals (2011) took a toll on Henry Cavill as he had to maintain a lean and muscular body so that he can show his symmetrically ripped flesh.

According to the 40-year-old actor –

“You’ve got to have that leanness because if you are not lean, your abs won’t show. Of course, the training has to be put in, but then you’ve to shed all the fat and keep the fat off. And that’s how you get an eight-pack.”

Henry Cavill has a knack for being a little too meticulous about looking a certain way and that leads him to feel anxiety before a barebody scene.

Henry Cavill Takes Pride In Achieving Accurate Results

During the filming of Immortals, it was admittedly hard for the actor to build up muscle and cuts at just the right places as he had to take down King Hyperion.

A fan of mythos, Cavill absolutely loves and takes pride in putting in the work, even if it makes him all blue in the face to get the desired output.

“You can train and train until you are blue in the face but you’ve got to diet. You get the fear every morning, “Do I look good enough?” And of course, you do. But in your own head, you never look good enough.”

He further added –

“No shading. I don’t want you to draw abs on me. I don’t want you to put dirt in the right places. I just want to do it myself. I want to have the body. It’s a pride thing.”

While The Witcher star is set to appear in Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller Argylle alongside Dua Lipa and John Cena, we sure hope that he puts Cena on alert with another shirtless appearance.
