Slater Nalley is wasting no time turning his American Idol momentum into a full-blown music career. The 18-year-old Georgia native, who captivated fans and judges alike during Season 23 with his sincerity and songwriting chops, has officially signed an artist management deal with Play It Again Music—a move that positions him for a promising leap into the next chapter of his artistic journey.

From the moment he stepped onto the Idol stage, Slater stood out—not just for his voice, but for his heart. His original song “Traces of You,” a moving tribute to his high school English teacher’s late son, showcased a depth beyond his years and earned him a place in the nation’s hearts. He carried that emotional authenticity all the way to the Top 5, and capped off his run with a showstopping performance of “I’m Gonna Love You” alongside country giants Carrie Underwood and Cody Johnson.
Now, Slater is joining forces with Play It Again Music, the powerhouse behind some of country’s biggest names. The company’s founder, multi-platinum songwriter Dallas Davidson, had nothing but praise for the young artist: “Slater Nalley is special. This young man checks all my boxes when I’m looking at an artist. He has raw talent, he’s grounded, and he carries himself like a pro.” Davidson also gave a heartfelt nod to Slater’s parents, Slater Sr. and Katie, for raising a young man with both integrity and grit.
For Slater, this new chapter is all about growth and gratitude. “The past few months of American Idol have been nothing short of a blessing,” he said. “I feel more inspired than ever to create music that speaks to my fans. Working with Dallas, Alyssa Ramsey, and Cade Price at Play It Again Music is a dream. They believed in me from the start, and I can’t wait to see where we go next.”
His debut single “Traces of You” is already making waves, and more music is on the horizon. With a management team that understands his vision and a fan base that’s ready to follow him wherever he goes, Slater Nalley is stepping into the spotlight not just as an Idol finalist—but as a rising star with staying power.
