Cowboy Carter topped the Billboard 200 chart for the second consecutive week, boosted by CD and vinyl sales.
Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter remained No. 1 for the second straight week on the Billboard album chart, besting new releases from J. Cole and K-pop group Tomorrow X Together.
According to tracking service Luminate, Cowboy Carter remained atop the Billboard 200 last week with sales equivalent to 125,500 copies in the United States. That includes 133 million streams and 20,500 physical copies sold. This is the first time Beyoncé has consistently held the No. 1 spot since her self-titled album in 2013 (the album was No. 1 three times in a row and was initially only available as a download from iTunes).
As in its first week, Beyoncé’s total sales were supported by sales of physical copies of the album on CD and vinyl. During the first two weeks, the album was sold only on her website. Since then, retailers have begun stocking Cowboy Carter. As she did with her 2022 album Renaissance, this time Beyoncé made a promotional appearance at the Los Angeles store, where fans can purchase her autographed vinyl. Soon after, they appeared on eBay for $2,000 or more.
Might Delete Later, by rapper J. Cole, came in second place with the equivalent of 115,000 sales, mostly from streaming. The album attracted attention thanks to the song 7 Minute Drill, aimed at Kendrick Lamar. But soon after, J. Cole immediately apologized and removed this song from streaming versions of the album.
Tomorrow Also this week, Future and Metro Boomin’s joint album We Don’t Trust You , released three weeks ago, fell to No. 4 and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time came in at No. 5.
